TECSULT TO JOIN AECOM,
GLOBAL ENGINEERING DESIGN FIRM
TECSULT becomes the hydropower centre of excellence for global leader AECO
MONTREAL – LOS ANGELES, February 11, 2008 – TECSULT Inc. one of Canada’s leading engineering firms, headquartered in Montreal, today announced that it has reached an agreement to join AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE: ACM), of Los Angeles, a global engineering design firm. The transaction is subject to standard closing conditions and is expected to be finalized in March 2008.
Under this agreement, TECSULT will retain its name, identity and management team for its own markets. In addition, it will become the spearhead for AECOM’s operating companies in Quebec and global centre of excellence in the area of hydroelectricity and dams.
AECOM is a global leader in its areas of expertise: transportation, facilities and environmental. By combining the hydroelectricity and dam expertise of AECOM’s operating companies with that of TECSULT, AECOM is positioning itself as a leader in this field.
“We have long been seeking to form an alliance with a high-calibre company, where we would keep our name and corporate culture while at the same time providing our employees and customers with the benefits of one of the world’s largest networks of expertise in all its fields of engineering, and more specifically, hydroelectricity and dams,” said Luc Benoît, CEO of TECSULT. He added that this agreement will create new business opportunities that will benefit all of TECSULT’s employees and open up new career opportunities in Canada and abroad.
“Welcoming Tecsult to the AECOM family will provide both firms with outstanding global growth opportunities,” said John M. Dionisio, AECOM president and chief executive officer. “AECOM is building our energy practice – particularly in hydropower, which is a source of pride in Québec – and we are expanding the broad portfolio of expert services that we can deliver to our clients around the world.”
